How to get there

📍 Boatman’s Steps, 24 West Street, Polruan, Cornwall, PL23 1PJ Google Maps

The roads in Cornwall are narrow and some are better than others. If you are coming from the East, about 15 minutes away from Polruan, Google Maps will advise you to take the right-hand turning via Pont. We advise that you DO NOT do this, it is better to follow the signs for Polruan. Although Google Maps directions think it is quicker, the road is very narrow with few passing places. It is better to follow the road signs.

Where to park

Polruan is a very old fishing village, and it’s not designed for modern cars. We think this is part of its charm as it makes for exciting winding paths and lovely walks, but it also means arriving needs some planning, as you cannot drive to the door of Boatman’s Steps.

We recommend you park your car in the St Saviours Hill Car Park which is 250m up the hill from the house. We will provide free parking for one car, which we will arrange with you directly ahead of your stay. For additional vehicles, it is £30 per week which you can pay directly to the car park attendant or using the machine. You can find a link to the Google Map here. You can either unload your bags at the bottom of Fore Street or walk down with your bags.
